It's Done!

First draft of After Her Death is done.   As of mere seconds ago.

Just over 72,000 words and 275 pages.

Elated doesn't even begin to describe the way I feel. But it's mixed with the forlorn feeling of saying goodbye to characters I really enjoyed following down their journey. You know how you feel after you finish a really good book and you don't want it to end. That's the way it is for writers finishing a story, only magnified several times.

It's a bittersweet place to be.

At least the story can still live on in my head during the revision process!

  1. Hi, Abigail! Congrats on finishing a first draft. Such a good feeling!!

Also, thank you so much for stopping by my blog and giving me some cover love. I'm truly all kinds of excited to finally get this story out AND nervous to finally have others read it.

We have to celebrate those good feelings, like the one you feel when you finish a first draft. :) Thanks again!!

  2. Yay!!! Congratulations! Hope you're enjoying the holidays with your family.
