Blogging for Books?

As you may have noticed, my last two posts have been book reviews.
There are a couple reasons for this, but I'll try not to bore you with too many details. ;-)

I struggle with blogging.  If I put too much attention on blogging, I'm using up emotional energy I would otherwise invest in writing.  Working and wifing (is that a word??) full time is well...full-time.  It's not a complaint.  It's just a statement of why I don't blog as often as I think I should.  But it means that sometimes (ok, usually), I get to the end of the day and am at a loss as to what to blog about.  Like my pal Cossette blogged this week, writers who haven't birthed (published) have a limit of how much they can talk about their babies (books) and don't want to publicize their slovenly writing habits, chronic writer's block, or other diseases that only inflict writers (and non-writers cringe to hear about).  So book reviews give me a quasi-regular, defined posts.

I am opinionated. No surprise there for those of you who know me.  But I do enjoy reviewing movies and books both.  The first two I did were thru structured blogging for books programs where the publishers sends you a book (free) in exchange for an honest review.  Yet I plan to also review some of my favorite books (and probably movies occasionally) because I do prefer to talk about things I LOVE to things that are "meh"  (translataion:  ok, but pretty ordinary and so not really blog-worthy).

I am cheap.  Yup.  I will blog for books.

Hopefully, some of you will decide to pick up one or two of the books I end up reviewing.  Afterall a book that may not have been my cup of tea you might just find delightful!
